New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT):
NM 273 Sunland Park, NM Roadway Improvements
The City of Sunland Park’s section of NM 273 needed improvements to intersections, driveway access, incorporating a multi-use path, drainage improvements and a full mill and overlay of the existing surface. Smith was hired by NMDOT to conduct the study and design phases of the project. Studies involved a traffic analysis, environmental documentation, ROW survey, utility and agency coordination, and public involvement. The design phase of the project included a full drainage analysis, SUE, signal and pedestrian analyses, roadway plans and profiles, ROW mapping and cost estimates; and traffic control plans. A full constructability review was conducted.
