Structural Professional Engineer / Project Manager / Engineer Associate
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Smith Engineering Company is seeking a Structural Professional Engineer and/or Engineer Associate (recent graduate) to join our Albuquerque, NM office. Engineering services include work on federal government contracts including structural engineering associated with buildings, roads, drainage, and utilities. Engineering responsibilities include the prompt and accurate completion of projects, and appropriate judgment to make qualified decisions relevant to design. Project Management consists of obtaining, planning, directing, assigning, and managing work of project team members.
Education / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree civil/structural engineering or other field with equivalent structural engineering work experience
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience a plus
- New Mexico PE license a plus
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Travel required
- AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Revit, and/or STADD experience is preferred
- Formal Project Management Training is preferred

Civil Designer or Engineer Associate
Location: Roswell, NM
Smith Engineering Company is seeking a Civil Designer or Engineer Associate to join our Roswell, NM office. Duties will consist of design services including calculations, interpretation & application of design standards, and production of drawings & specifications. Design services will be consistent with the needs of the client, the Team Leader’s/Project Manager’s guidance, and within budget/schedule constraints.
Education / Requirements:
- Civil drafting and design experience OR
Associate degree in drafting technology or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- AutoCAD/ Civil 3D experience is preferred
- WaterCAD, StormCAD, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster experience is a plus
- Field experience is a plus
- Travel may be needed
