Smith Engineering Company - Construction Management
SEC’s Rusty Payne (in safety vest) consults with Louis Jenkins of the City of Deming as contractors discuss construction of the community’s new water tank facility.
It’s your project. You want the job done right. We can help.

Simple as that.

At Smith Engineering Company, our construction management teams protect the investment clients have made, overseeing the product of contractors to ensure quality workmanship and reduce delays. More than that, our testing lab has been confirming the integrity of building materials for 25 years.

“When we put our heads on the pillow at night,” says one of our senior company professionals, “we sleep well because we know the project is being built to specs, to best of the contractor’s ability.”

SEC performs a wide range of construction management and materials testing services. These services are developed to ensure the project is built per the design plans and client specifications.

Our staff construction managers get a thrill out of seeing a project through construction to completion and close-out. Whether its monitoring a contractor or testing concrete, asphalt or soil materials, our pros know that a job well done – the first time – saves time and money.

To achieve the client’s objectives, it is often better to show than to tell. We do both.

At SEC, each field technician is fully equipped with laptop computer and digital camera. Using this state-of-the-art technology, along with a can-do spirit, we can provide our clients with daily reports, which can be transmitted instantaneously via email.

Most field issues are resolved onsite, but some challenges require input from the design engineer or regulatory agency. By having the tools and the training and the experience, our pros communicate rapidly to the project team, so the job keeps moving forward. By reducing down-time, this saves our clients money.

Small wonder SEC construction observation and testing lab have attracted a smorgasbord of clients, public and private. Clients range from contractors to communities large and small, from municipalities to some of the Southwest’s busiest private developers.
