| Staffers share a moment during SEC’s celebration of 30 years in the Roswell office. |
Smith Engineering was founded in 1989 when engineer Bob Smith purchased the Albuquerque office of Bovay-McGinty Engineers, a national firm with headquarters in Texas. The respected firm we know today took shape in 1994 when Smith Engineering merged with John D. Jaquess & Associates of Roswell.
Since, the company has continued to offer civil and structural engineering services, while expanding to three more offices – Las Cruces; Durango, Colorado; Midland, Texas. Along the way, SEC has amassed some of the top engineering talent in the Southwest and built a regional reputation for producing quality documents. Client service, however, is Smith Engineering’s signature.
SEC has a major presence in water/wastewater projects, storm control/drainage, structural design, land development (surveying, GIS, materials testing), construction management and transportation. Our professional may also assist you in grant-writing and administration.
While Bob Smith serves as engineer emeritus, CEO John Jaquess oversees daily operations, travelling out of the company’s Las Cruces office.
In mid-summer 2008, clients, Chamber of Commerce Red Coats, media and friends of SEC joined our staffers in celebrating 30 years of business in our Roswell office.
